After having concluded an agreement with Phuket Boat Lagoon for the marina management, Grand Marina has signed with Unicorn Hospitality (https://www.unicornh.com/) for the hotel management of the real estate complex. As a reminder, Grand Marina is developing a marina & hotel complex 30 km south from Hua Hin, in Pranburi, between islands and mountains of the magnificent landscapes of the Sam Roy Yod nature reserve.
After long discussions with international hotel chains, Grand Marina has finally chosen a more specialized group which manage several quality establishments in Thailand (they also manage an establishment in Vietnam and in the Maldives). We interviewed the Grand Marina CEO Renee Seerup so he can explain us this choice :
“We were about to sign with Ramada (Wyndham group) but the brand has been bought by Chinese investors at the beginning of the year and their strategy would have clearly been oriented to mass tourism which is not what we want for Grand Marina. Besides, and even if announcing a famous name had been tempting us during a long time, this type of brand tend to impose their standards which are sometimes too strict and relatively impersonal, not in accordance with the idea we want to share with our project. We have been enticed by the experience of the Unicorn group and the consistency of their vision. They will be able to create for Grand Marina a personalized strategy adapted to our specificities, including for instance the fact that we offer apartments from 1 to 3 Beds, with bigger surface than in average hostel establishments. Unicorn has already recruited the General Manager who will be in charge of the buildings F1 and F2 deliverable at the end of the year. Its profile is particularly adapted since he had notably been in charge of an hostel during 7 years in the Pranburi region, with excellent results. Thus, we are ready to introduce our offer and to open our rooms in early 2020.”
