Tips to invest in South-East Asia

The island of Palawan was recently voted as the “Best Island in the World for 2020” by renowned Travel + Leisure Magazine, a historic American magazine specializing in travel, tourism and leisure.

Palawan is an island in the Sulu Sea located in the west-southwest of the Philippines. It is the main island of the province of Palawan.

Very elongated, the island is oriented south-west north-east over 450 km for an average width of 50 km. The northwest coast of the island bathes the South China Sea.

While many islands can claim the status of the best island in the world, it is not surprising to find Palawan Island in the top spot. Now find out why this island is so popular and why we believe it is particularly suitable for buyers considering a Philippines property investment

Indeed, several elements can explain why this prestigious distinction was awarded to Palawan.

First, Palawan is an important island (the 5th in terms of surface area) within its own country, the Republic of the Philippines.

As we have recently discussed in previous articles, the Philippines is a country currently experiencing unprecedented development. The country is increasingly integrated into global trade, particularly in the tourism and new technologies sectors.

This development has enriched the country, allowing it to invest in the latest generation of tourism infrastructure, making the country even more attractive than before for increasingly demanding foreign tourists.

Indeed, the goal of the government is to sublimate the natural resources available to the country with high-end infrastructure, and this policy is particularly visible on the island of Palawan.

So we then approach our second point, namely that the Philippines (and in particular the island of Palawan) have magnificent landscapes and flora and fauna that are both heterogeneous and exotic.

Indeed, Palawan benefits from its ideal position, in the heart of the Sulu Sea, which offers it a variety of landscapes, each more beautiful than the next.

Between the white sand beaches stretching as far as the eye can see, or the lush forests, you are free to choose what type of landscape you want to enjoy.

You can also paddle one of the largest underground rivers in the world in Puerto Princesa National Park through imposing limestone caves. Dive sites are dotted around Puerto Princesa Bay, which is populated by long-billed common dolphins, turtles and rays.

Palawan also has many endemic species, including amphibians, snakes, geckos and butterflies. These are easily observed in their natural element in nature is present and enhanced on the island of Palawan.

Ultimately, it is no surprise that Palawan has become a popular destination for tourists from all over the world, as its natural riches are attractive and sought after.

Thus, during the last decade, a good number of hotels and luxury residences have established themselves on the coasts of the “Best Island in the World” in order to welcome travelers in search of a change of scenery but nevertheless attached to a certain comfort.

Thai Property Group, for example, currently offers luxury bungalows in the luxurious El Nido residence, located on the northern tip of the “Best Island in the World”.

With an annual return of 10% net, El Nido is therefore an extremely attractive property investment. Note for example that the developer offers the buyback of the property after 5 or 10 years.
